About the Filmmakers
Mark Hager, Little Hawk Films - Director, Writer, Producer
Mark began his career in the motion picture industry in 1990 working as a Grip on low budget independent films. In 1992 he switched over to working in the production office and for the next 10 years worked as an Assistant Coordinator and Production Coordinator. His credits include The Matrix Reloaded & Revolution, The Hulk, 50 First Dates, Flubber, The Game, Jack, Assasination of Richard Nixon, Dream with the Fishes, A Walk in the Clouds, James and the Giant Peach, Patch Adams and Sweet November to name a few. In 2002, Mr. Hager started his own independent film company "Little Hawk Films" in Santa Rosa, California. Mark's first film The Field, which he also wrote and co-produced, premiered at the Ashland Film Festival and subsequently has shown in 10 festivals around the country, broadcast on Free Speech TV in May 2005 and is being considered for distribution in Europe.
Mark is also Producer of the short film "State of Grace" which is now in the submission process for a number of film festivals including Sundance, SXSW, Ashland International Film Festival to name a few. Mark is co-producer on the film short "Ed Meets His Maker", which as been screened at the Miami Short Film Festival, Edmonton International Film Festival, Big Bear Film Festival, Ashville Film Festival and Kids FIRST! Festival. He is also Line Producer for the short film "Edible" produced by Born Of Women Films, in Sebastopol, CA and has been screened at a number of film festivals across the country.
Tim Bellen - Director, Writer, Producer
Tim Bellen has been working in film and television for over 15 years. He is a Director of Photography, Camera/Steadicam Operator, Producer and Writer. He works mostly in L.A. but has shot projects in France, Russia and Canada. Besides numerous T.V. pilots, Tim's television credits include: One Tree Hill for Warner Bros. and Malcom in the Middle for Fox. He has worked on E.R., The West Wing, Just Shoot Me, Charmed and 7th Heaven to name a few. His camera work can also be seen in the feature films Metro with Eddie Murphy, the Ron Howard film Ed TV and Flubber with Robin Williams.
In 2002 Tim co-produced and was Director of Photography on the film short "The Field". In 2005 he directed his first film short "State of Grace", which he also wrote and produced and is currently in post-production. In 2006 Tim co-produced and was Director of Photography on the short film "Ed Meets His Maker" for director Laurence Sarezky for which Tim won for Best Cinematography from the International Cinematographers Guild.
In 1986 he graduated from the California College of Arts and Crafts in Oakland with a degree in both drawing and film production.
He is co-writer of two feature screenplays and sole writer of a third. He has also written spec-episodes for a half-hour comedy and an original comedy pilot. In 2007 Tim was the camera operator for the independent film "Bottle Shock" shot in Sonoma, CA starring Bill Pullman and Alan Rickman and had it's world primere screening at Sundance in 2008.
Tim is a member of the International Cinematographers Guild and the Society of Operating Cameramen. He lives in Northern California with his wife (photographer) Nancy and son Wiley.
